Wheel Life Rally 2026: EUC & Onewheel Racing at The Wick

Wheel Life Rally Brings Electric Unicycle and Onewheel Racing to The Wick

Wheel Life Rally returns August 8th, 2026 to The Wick motocross track. Wheel Life Rally has a growing reputation as one of the Northeast's most anticipated weekends for electric unicycle racing and Onewheel racing. Hosted at the legendary Southwick motocross facility known simply as "The Wick," the rally blends off-road competition, community energy, and technical terrain into a single high-intensity gathering for personal electric vehicle riders.

For many riders, the venue itself is a major draw. The Wick has long been recognized in the dirt bike world for its soft soil and demanding layout. Bringing electric unicycle and Onewheel racing onto this same ground elevates the challenge and gives competitors a taste of terrain usually reserved for traditional motorsports.

Why The Wick Matters

In motocross culture, The Wick is synonymous with difficulty. The soil is deep, loose, and constantly shifting, forcing riders to adapt with every lap. For electric unicycle racers and Onewheel competitors, this environment becomes a true skills test. Balance, throttle control, endurance, and line selection all play a role, and the terrain often determines the outcome as much as speed.

This crossover between motocross history and modern PEV racing is part of what makes Wheel Life Rally stand out. Riders are not just competing against each other; they are competing against one of the most technically demanding dirt tracks in the region.

Why Wheel Life Rally Exists

Wheel Life Rally did not start as a commercial production or a racing brand. It began as a response to community need. Co-founder Showtyme explains that the early years were about creating a space where riders could connect during a time when many people felt isolated.

"Riding PEVs definitely has a positive effect on your life. I was going through a lot of changes — divorce, financial struggles, job transitions — and this became an outlet for all of that."

What started as a personal escape quickly evolved into something bigger. The rally became a gathering point for riders who might otherwise never cross paths.

"The most rewarding thing is the community. I've met people I never would have met in my life if it wasn't for riding."

That sense of belonging continues to shape the direction of Wheel Life Rally. While the terrain is demanding and the racing is competitive, the foundation of the event remains connection first, competition second.

Electric Unicycle Racing Meets Onewheel Racing

Wheel Life Rally is intentionally inclusive of multiple PEV disciplines. The weekend typically features:

  • Off-road electric unicycle racing heats
  • Onewheel dirt track runs
  • Obstacle and technical balance courses
  • Flag and skills competitions
  • Jousting and novelty events for spectators

This variety keeps the event dynamic and encourages crossover participation. Riders who usually stay within one discipline often experiment with new formats, which builds both skill diversity and community cohesion. This year's event also introduces USA EUC sanctioned divisions for riders pursuing national rankings.

Built by Riders, for Riders

The rally was founded by Showtyme and Erwin Greene, two long-time community members who wanted to create a dedicated off-road space for electric unicycle racing and Onewheel racing in the Northeast. What began as a grassroots meetup has evolved into a structured weekend that draws participants from across state lines and into Canada.

Their approach remains community-first. Volunteers coordinate logistics, riders help shape event formats, and feedback from each year directly influences the next. The result is an event that continues to grow without losing its rider-driven identity.

More Than Competition

While racing is central, Wheel Life Rally is equally about connection. Riders frequently describe PEV events as a positive outlet that builds confidence and introduces them to people they would never have met otherwise. The mix of competition, shared challenges, and spectator energy creates an atmosphere that feels both intense and welcoming.

Sponsor Spotlight: One Stop Board Shop

Wheel Life Rally also benefits from strong industry backing, including support from New Jersey-based retailer One Stop Board Shop. Owner Brian Lindy describes the event as a critical gathering point for electric unicycle and Onewheel riders on the East Coast, emphasizing that community-driven events help riders connect beyond local group rides.

One Stop Board Shop began as a garage operation and grew into a full service retailer and repair hub serving EUC, Onewheel, e-skate, scooters, and e-bikes. Their involvement in Wheel Life Rally has expanded each year, contributing to increased attendance and multi-day programming. Lindy now serves on the rally council as Onewheel Director, helping coordinate outreach and event development.

For sponsors like One Stop, supporting racing events is not only about sales, it is about sustaining the culture that allows the sport to grow.

August 8: Bring the Energy

As August 8, 2026 approaches, organizers aim to expand spectator attendance and sponsorship involvement while continuing to strengthen both the electric unicycle racing and Onewheel racing communities. For riders and fans alike, Wheel Life Rally at The Wick represents a rare chance to see cutting-edge PEV competition on terrain that commands respect across multiple motorsport disciplines.

Wheel Life Rally offers a window into a fast-growing culture built around creativity, progression, and the simple joy of riding. It's an open invitation to see what electric riding looks like when community and competition share the same space.

How to Follow the Event

Schedules, updates, and live moments will be shared through official Wheel Life Rally pages and social channels as the weekend approaches. Race highlights, rider stories, and behind-the-scenes footage will continue to roll out long after the final lap, giving new audiences a chance to experience the energy even if they can't be there in person.
