USA EUC National Championship Round Returns to King of the Hammers
Johnson Valley, CA — Amped Electric Games is bringing ULTRA1 electric unicycle racing back to King of the Motos in 2026, this time as a fully sanctioned round of the USA EUC National Championship Series.
Last year, Amped Electric Games introduced ULTRA1 racing at King of the Hammers, proving for the first time that high-performance electric unicycles could compete on the same extreme desert terrain that challenges professional off-road motorcycles, UTVs, and trophy trucks. What began as a breakthrough debut now returns as an officially sanctioned championship event, complete with national points, standardized classes, and professional race operations.
"Introducing ULTRA1 at King of the Hammers showed that electric balance vehicles belong in real off-road motorsport," said Seth Johnson, founder of Amped Electric Games. "Bringing it back under USA EUC sanctioning elevates it to a true national championship level and marks a major step forward for the sport."
The USA EUC Championship round at King of the Motos will feature two distinct race formats:
King of the Grand Prix (Friday & Saturday)
A closed-course, technical circuit race on the infield track emphasizing precision, acceleration, braking control, and head-to-head racecraft.
Desert Enduro (Sunday)
A long-distance out-and-back endurance race across open desert terrain, requiring navigation to a GPS-defined checkpoint and testing rider stamina, energy management, and equipment reliability.
All competition will operate under the USA EUC Rulebook, with official timing systems, standardized class structures, mandatory safety requirements, and national championship points awarded toward season standings.
As a sanctioned championship round, King of the Motos will follow unified national standards including course inspection, medical coordination, protective equipment enforcement, and results verification.
The return of ULTRA1 to King of the Hammers represents a significant milestone for electric motorsports. It places electric unicycle racing alongside one of the most respected off-road events in North America and signals the transition of the discipline from experimental showcase to structured, professional competition.
For riders, it is a proving ground.
For manufacturers, it is a real-world performance benchmark.
For sponsors and media, it is a clear indicator that electric unicycle racing has entered the era of national-level motorsport.
